A collection of my favorite pics and places so far. I figure, I have enough online by now to be able to pick and choose a few since I can never decide when going through them.
Occasionally I get one right, though.

Lighting up a wrecked vintage car in a limestone quarry in France.

The intermediate level of a retracting Maginot Line medium artillery turret.

Power dials in the generator facility of a World War II fortress. This picture took me about an hour of climbing, contortions, and creative lighting to set up.

A French 1930s workplace safety placard.

Flooding in an access tunnel of a French Maginot Line fortress deep below ground.

R. and his coleman stove in a Maginot side tunnel.

Raiding the French navy’s Atlantic fleet ghost ships on one spectacular morning.

A crumbling villa I found, long since destroyed.

Entrepôt de Pantin in Paris, favorite of gypsies and graffiti artists.

Heavy-duty locomotives in a vast freight train graveyard at night.

Hanging out in an aviation museum that I first thought was a random collection of abandoned aircraft. I don’t suppose anyone would leave a perfectly good Concorde standing around, would they.

One of my favorite trips – a colossal limestone quarry near Paris.

A cool graffiti composition in an utter shithole of a ruined clinic.

The famous Uyuni train graveyard in Bolivia.

Some not-so-abandoned trains in a place where I wasn’t supposed to be. Aren’t they all.

Night photography at a long-disused Formula One racetrack.

Faffing around with color gels and long exposures in the Paris-Bércy refrigerated train station – located in plain sight, but often overlooked.

Fence outside of an industrial pig slaughterhouse.

The unit dispositions board in a French cold war command bunker complex.

Direction signs in the sleeping section of a cold war command bunker complex deep below the surface.

Yours Truly inside a château / hospital / morgue.

Accounting ledgers of a long-gone steel maker.

Vintage elevator cage and staircase in a steelmaker’s headquarters building.

Some sort of home-built buggy we found in a limestone quarry.

The factory hall roof in an abandoned engine plant.

Rooftopping in the city of lights.

One of the last photographs of the clown vomit graffiti-covered historic Piscine Molitor in Paris, before the start of renovations to turn it into an upscale hotel. An awesome going-away present from a friend in Paris.

Toy Napoleonic statues belonging to “Emperor” Bokassa I, from his former castle outside of Paris.

The spiral main staircase of “Emperor” Bokassa I’s château.

“Emperor” Bokassa I’s château near Paris, France.

The result of some cleaning up and a few candles with old mine carts.

The veterinary school at Anderlecht – now luxury apartments.

Some of the vile shit in the cellar – a favorite photo destination while it was around.

Furnace pipes at a coal fired power plant in Belgium. This room is difficult for photography due to the diffuse-yet-bright light entering via the huge windows at either end of the hall.

Pipes and dials in the coal power plant.

AMX-30 tank I found in a junkyard full of military vehicles.

Rotting barrels and a tracked transport dolley in a wine cellar deep underneath a forest. We had to rappel down about 30 meters to get in.

The parking garage of a large auto distributor that moved shop.

Dramatic electrical closets left to rust in a World War II bunker underneath a large German steel manufacturing plant that is now entirely razed above ground.
Hey Pal,
I like your new webdesign. Nice new sets as well. I still hope we eventually have the chance to go on a gig together. Gosh I miss exploring (being busy a lot with our offspring right now).
Take care,
Roman
Thank you sir – unfortunately I’ve started a new job (well, fortunately, but the unfortunate bit is that I am in a place without much to see, and don’t have time in any case.)
It’s part of my goals for next year to go do some trips again…
